Children’s Storytelling

Dalton Community Centre, 21 Nelson Street, Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, LA15 8AF :: Free

10:30am :: Cumbrian Stories with Steve Wharton

11:30am :: Preston Presents with Hayley Preston

12:30pm :: Peter Digs A Den with Amy Stretch-Parker

We have three storytelling sessions happening for children at Dalton Community Centre all are free with families welcome.

We start the day with traditional Cumbrian stories from Steve Wharton, before he goes on his rambles around the town.

Preston Presents features a rag-tag of stories collected by our very own volunteer co-ordinator and librarian Hayley Preston.

Amy Stretch-Parker grew up in Pennington in a creative family who encouraged her love of music, art, dancing and writing. After years of working in community music education and the arts Amy wrote her first children’s book ‘Peter Digs A Den’ set in Coniston; a story about a small boy with a big idea. Amy has recently set up A Spark in the Sand publishing from her home in Askam and hopes to publish more children’s books and work by local authors and illustrators.
